If you are married, do you realise that you see your work friends more than your spouse? thats weird now that i think of it.. dont you think?... =P 24 hours a day, 8 hours at work, 8 hour sleep, 1 hour getting to work, 1 hour back, thats left us with 6 hours to stay at home with whoever you're living with, family, wife or husband.
That's why i think work is such a great place to share your life as a Christian!! i mean you do see them for 8 hours a day... and you're probably the only Christian that they ever met in their entire life... It is such a great opportunity and blessing to be able to work and surrounded by non christian friends =) to share your life and witnessing among them. It is definietly not easy but for this reason, i look forward going to work =)
I have been working full time at this company for about 10 months. The longer i work, the more certain I am, i rather work full time than do full time ministry, well for now anyway.. who knows later heh? I mean full time ministry is such a great thing, the harvest are plenty but the workers are few... but i always thought to myself, if i ever do ftm, who would share the gospel with the people i met at work. Who would showing them the life in Jesus if i'm not there.... God placed me there for a purpose.... and i see my life as a full time ministry anyway, regardless whether i get paid or not is a different issue =)
Sometimes, i'm tired going to work. it is such a repetitive thing to do, so boring, too much responsibility, ahh just work in general... but it is such a great joy to be able to share Jesus to your work friends, to be able to invite them to Bible Talk, just to share your weekend away (conferences), or tell them what you do in the weekend.... to be honest, hmm it might be weird i say this, but i do love my work friends... not just from my team, i made friends from different division... i do love them, i want to see them come to know Jesus... =)
Well, above are just my thoughts regarding FTM vs secular work... This is part of the reason why i was late to go to Lunch before EQUIP today.. i was just eating my siomay at dinning table by myself in the dark, thinking about my work friends, work and ftm. why and why not?... that i forgot the time and it was 11:30 so i quickly get change then ran to bus stop =P
btw Equip was Great.. summary talk will be posted soon! i bought the CD from EQUIP if anyone want to borrow it... just give me a buzz =)
