Went to Kyckstart 1.5 weeks ago and the first talk is on Genesis 1.. if you 've heard about Christianity before, you must have heard about the story of Creation in Genesis 1 and how this world was created in 7 days yada yada yada, the animal, the plants, the human that were created... but in fact Genesis 1, is telling us more than just the Creation, most importantly, it telling us about the Creator.... about God, the Creator.. who God is, what kind of God is he.
First, He is the one and only God.
verse 1 -In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
God is the creator of everything! this Christian God!, God made the sun, God made buddha, God made science! so why worship them? why worship the created things when you can worship the creator?? God created them - everything you see, He made.
Second, The God of order and control
verse 2 - earth was empty, formless, darkness
and as God said, the earth starting to takes more shape each day, make it more exciting
Third - The speaking God
if you read the whole Genesis 1, you can see that God just speak & it created - it happened just like that! Ridiculous display of God's power!
Fourth - The Great Assessor
God sees it and say it was good, the creation pleases God - noone elses opinion matter! he didn't ask anyone else, he didnt ask the animal or adam or eve whether it was good.. God reckon it was good so be it!
so what is this creation for? Himself.... it's definietly a frightening application to all of us - noone asking us of what we think!! the very definition of paradise is not what pleases us - it's all what pleases Him, GOD! you know sometimes you dream about your goal in life, i wanna be rich, i wanna live a comfortable life, i wanna have a beautiful girlfriend, handsome boyfriend, i wanna have a really nice car to drive around, i wanna be able to travel overseas all the time,!!! but its not paradise!! paradise is all about what pleases God!!!
So what???
- the creation doesnt evolve around me. the point isn't me!
- your spiritual, you being close with God, its not God fitting in with your will but you have to fit in with God's will
- God is in the centre! God is in rightful place! God is in control! and what matter is Him!
- The biggest LIE from SATAN that is God want to fulfil your dream!!
- to understand paradise, you have to ask yourself question - is my life pleasing Him?
so now instead of singing "What about meeeeeeee?, it isnt fair" let's sing "it's not all about meeeeeee.. it's all about God"!!! =)
